Colin on the 1952 photo in his zipper
jacket
Just looked at the photo of 1952. I am the only one without a
jacket but wearing a zip up sweater. Always the rebel I got a clip
round the ear and a detention my first day at school for not calling Mr
Clements "Sir". Not the best of starts.
Buzzer Howard's cane and I became good friends, well we met often
enough. On one occasion I broke a door off its hinges, well it was
a bit loose I thought. Scrumping in the evenings and selling
apples and pears at school was quite lucrative. On Fridays we
marked our own register so Mick May and I took Friday afternoons off.
At 15 years of age I decided enough was enough so I left school and got
an apprenticeship.
A bit of a wasted education.
Colin
