Supporting Study


The Library and Resource area has undergone great changes recently and provides an excellent and pleasant environment for study. The upper library has now been adapted for pupils to be able to carry our private study, whereas general research and teaching areas are available on the lower floor.

Open for pupils use everyday from 8.30-4.30, facilities include a very large selection of books, both fiction and non-fiction; books of different languages; videos; computer stations with CD ROM's audio and video facilities, and the latest in photocopying technology. These facilities allow pupils a high level of access to support their learning.

The Sixth Form

Trinity Sixth Form offers the opportunity to all pupils to improve their qualifications through a range of subjects and vocational courses.

It provides a supportive and friendly environment in which pupils can develop their skills and abilities. There is emphasis on achievement through negotiation and target setting which is carried out by a dedicated tutor team. The programme pupils follow includes a variety of stimulating and recreational activities such as first aid courses, play production, self defence as well as their chosen subjects. There is an active and progressive pupil committee who organise pupil events both for fun and for charity. The Committee also play an important part in the evaluation and development of all aspects of Sixth Form life. Work experience and community service are also available. Applications to higher or further education are positively encouraged.

All pupils have a right to access the whole curriculum and one of the Educational Support Faculty's major functions is to enable all pupils to obtain full benefit from the experience of their upper school education. The provision in Trinity School is flexible enough to respond to the notion that any pupil, at any time, for any length of time may have specific learning needs as well as recognising that pupils of all abilities need support to encourage them to achieve their full potential.

 The Sixth Form has its own large building equipped with tutorial rooms, private study rooms, community room, kitchen and social area. The building gives the Sixth Form Centre a special identity and the resources to meet the needs of the pupils. The Sixth Form pupils also use the facilities for studying in Faculty areas and in the Library which has a special section for the Sixth Form.
