Music Lesson
During Years 10 and 11, pupils follow a
broad and balanced course which builds on their studies in
Year 9. All courses except PSE and Physical Education, lead
to GCSE examinations at the end of Year 11.

Pupils and their parents are fully
consulted regarding options for GCSE courses at a special
meeting towards the end of Year 9. You will have the
opportunity to discuss the alternatives with your child's
form tutor, subject teachers and the careers officer.

The Curriculum in Years 10 and 11
(Key Stage 4)
Every pupil follows a "core" curriculum which includes:
English
Language and English Literature
Mathematics
Science
(A double GCSE course which covers all the sciences)
Technology
French
Physical
Education
Personal
and Social Education
In
addition, every pupil will select three additional
subjects from the following broad categories:
One
Humanities subject - either History or Geography
One
Expressive Arts subject - either Art or Music or Drama
or Physical Education (GCSE).
One Further Option -
guided choice allows pupils to choose a second subject, in
an area which particularly interests them. For
example, this enables pupils to take:
2 Humanities subjects - both History and Geography
OR
2 Technology subjects - Design Technology and
Information Technology
OR
2 Expressive Arts Subjects - Drama and Music
